St. Vincent - This Wave

St Vincent is pretty much the queen of the indie world right now. While indications suggest that her recent collaboration with David Byrne is going to make us all weak at the knees, she was also recently voted ‘2012’s Sexiest Woman in Indie Rock’ as part of a poll by Nerve. And now she’s decided to remind us all just why we fell in love with her in the first place, by releasing a bonus track from the Japanese release of her most recent album ‘Strange Mercy’. Dreamy and wistful , ‘This Wave’ is calmer than some of ‘Strange Mercy’; Annie Clark’s voice continues to be mesmerizingly hypnotic. Opening with a whistle and piano duet before Annie slowly makes her way through melody and lyrics, as the song reaches a crescendo complete with drum rolls. Give us more Annie, give us more, we all screamed!
